HOW DID WE BEGIN STAGE FRIGHT?
Jeez, it feels as if it were so long ago. Our story runs deep, the roots are thick. Here we go. The story of STAGE FRIGHT!
The story starts in the summer of 2022. Antonio York had just left a previous hard rock band known as The Angelus in which he was the guitarist of. He was on his own after his leave. However, this wasn’t the end of York’s musical journey. he wanted to have a side project until he could form another heavy band. He went to a friend he’s known for years, Cameron Jones, and proposed a band idea. Jones had always wanted to be in a band. He had began playing bass guitar in sixth grade. He was skilled, York knew this. So together, they formed Stage Fright.
Together, York and Jones wrote songs together and wanted to start composing. They wanted a drummer and a guitarist. Eventually, Lexi Burrell joined the band on drums, and Max Caguiat joined on guitar. Originally, York was just on vocals, this changed quickly. Caguiat ended up leaving the band due to creative differences. Together, the band recorded three demos with Caguiat before he disbanded. Instead of looking for a new guitarist, York took the role after Burrell and Jones had heard his work in The Angelus.
After a while, the band wrote more demos, and eventually began performing locally. After gaining some traction, the band reached out to a record label and sent some demos in. The record label digged em’ and decided to give Stage Fright a chance. This began the beginning of their first official studio album, “Pefection“.
At first, the recording of Perfection was rough. There were many roadblocks and creative differences amongst the group. York was the main writer. He wrote his songs in a more emotional and passionate tone. Burrell wanted the songs to follow more heavy tones, like York’s previous band. Evemtially they settled on the lighter tone originally intended for the band. After about 4 and a half months of recording, on November 20th, 2024, The band’s first official LP, “Perfection” was released.
In support of Perfection’s release, the band has begun touring once more. This time, they’re not just touring locally. The 12 Days of Yuletide Tour has begun and is still in affect as now! You can still get tickets for the upcoming shows. The band has been getting much more traction, and fans are eager to see what the next album will release with. After a brief interview with The Super Official Press, Stage Fright confirms there will be a new album to be put in production right after this tour. They claim it will be the most unique album they’ve ever created in their musical careers.
